La Serena to Talca

Vouw..alot to write since the last time. After spending a great time in Viña en Valparaiso we went back to Santiago for one night and headed the day after for another adventures. We drove 500 kilometers up north to La Serena where we spent 2 nights in a beautiful hotel, it was like in the caribbeans, with palmtrees and sunny and warm, just great! The way to La Serena from Santiago is really beautiful. The highway is first class highway, really well done and easy to drive. Continuously we saw sceneries so beautiful, and the further we got from Santiago, the climate started to change to summer, not bad Cool I dont know how many beaches we passed, alot, white sand and the pacific ocean coming in to shore..mmm..rico..

Well, in La Serena, we spent the afternoon and evening. Rodolfo knows this city very well, coz he lived there when he was younger, so again we went to see alot of his childhood places. The day after we drove in to the "Valle del Elqui" that is such a beautiful area, incredible. We visited Vicuña ( a small city, like the capital of the valley), Cochigua, which is at the end of the valley, an incredible place with alot of "gurus" for Zen and that kind of stuff, and u can feel the energy there is amazing. There we took lunch, in an outside - inside restaurant, incredible beautiful with a vieuw to the mountains.

Its so difficult to explain, I realize Im writing beautiful and incredible alot, its just so overwhelming everything that the only way to understand all this beauty is to go there and see it.

Anyway, we also visited the Pisco Valley, but pisco is a national drink here in Chile, really good, and in Pisco Vally is a big fabric of Pisco. We went to the fabric and took a look, but we didnt drink any Pisco, not that time at least Whistling For the rest of the day we spent driving around, stopping here and there, taking alot of pictures and enjoying the great day. In the evening we drove back, but we waited long enough for to get dark, coz in This Valle del Elqui, there is the clearest sky in the world, and to see the stars there is something u can not imagine. I could not believe what I was seeing, it is like you are standing in the middle of the galaxy and you can reach your hand out to the stars. They were so many, the sky was completely full of stars and satellites flying around. Absoloutely undescribable and super powerful. The most beautiful sky I ever saw in my life, and this is the only place in the world where u can live this.

The day after we drove back to Santiago. We had been driving almost 2000 kilometers the last days so we were quite tired!

As Chileans are super famous for their great wine, we couldnt resist going to visit a vineyard. This time we had to drive only to the edge of the city, but still it took us almost one hour and a half to get there, so big this city!! We went to the Concha y Toro vineyard. The make for example the Casillero del Diablo, a great wine. We took a tour inside the place and we got to try 2 types of wine, incluing one of the best wine in Latin - America, Don Melchor from the year 1989. Well, this wine was something else, the best I´ve ever tried. And the price of the bottle was around 70 dollars, if we wanted to buy one, well, not this time.

After staying 2 days in Santiago, we left this morning to Talca, a city that is south of Santiago, about 3 hours with the train. Here are living two friends of Rodolfo, Andres and Raimundo(Sajon) and at the moment we are at their place, but tomorrow in the morning we are going to the country side where their family has a big farm and we will stay there till monday morning. And I think this will be our last travel. In 10 days we are going back to Belgium, so the last week we will stay with the family.

I hope to put some pictures soon, but I have really little access to internet, so we will see, maybe it will be when we are back in Belgium, but I will try my best.
