Coast and Casino

Well....here I am again.

The last week we spent in Santiago, I got sick in my stomach, so I spent some days at home in bed, and took the chance to sleep alot, I really needed that! I experienced my second chilean earthquake : ) (not to be told to my grandmother, please) and have seen alot of Santiago. This city is so big, and so diverse. It is incredible to drive between different places in the city and see how everything changes, all depending on the econimic situation of the people. What is very special, is that on almost every big corner where there are traffic lights, poor people gather there, trying to sell vegetalbles, doing some tricks with balls, and asking for money afterwards, or selling candies, gloves, just name it, u can find everything on the street. People find their way to survive. There are some neighbours that are very poor and dangerous, but on the other hand there are alot of good neighbours where people live good, the difference is just so big!!  

At the moment we are in Viña del Mar, we came here yesterday and saw the city, What strikes me is to see alot of dogs, everywhere there are dogs, "homeless dogs" but they dont bother the people, they live on the street and are part of the society.

We drove the coast to Reñaca and to Concón, where we went to a very folkloric restaurant to have some delicious seafood. Its really beautiful here and the beach...really nice. . Of course its winter now, so there was no sunbathing but never the less, its great! Yesterday in the evening we went for a dinner in a pizza place where Rodolfo always went to eat when he studied in the university here, and after that we went to the Casino. That was more to see it than to play. It was nice, coz I have never been to a Casino, its something you always see in the movies, it was beautiful and quite big but Casino is not our thing... The night we spent at the Oceanic hotel where we had a room with a vieuw to the see, just great. The hotel is built just at the edge of the see, so when u are in ur room, its like u are inside the see, marvellous! here u can see some pictures:  www.hoteloceanic.cl

 

Today we are heading to Valparaiso, that is the main port of Chile, and after the we will improvise a bit. We havent decided the schedule, but we will be more or less travelling the next days!!

Öfund öfund öfund. Mig langar aftur til Chile. Vonandi kemst ég einu sinni enn áður en los padres flytja heim. Hafðu það gott Sveinó mín og njóttu lífsins.
